}}Based on a study of 400 Spanish patients with [[rheumatoid arthritis]], SNP [[rs1324913]] in the [[KLF12]] gene was significantly associated with increased risk, showing even higher association than the [[rs2476601]] SNP located in the PTPN22 gene.{{PMID|18668548}}

A SNP said to be perfectly correlated with [[rs1324913]] is [[rs9565072]]; this latter SNP failed to show any association with [[rheumatoid arthritis]] in a UK cohort of 3962 cases and 3531 controls, and also failed in a meta-analysis of UK, US and Swedish populations.{{PMID|19907058}}
