{{PMID|18332089|OA=1
}} (287 cases, 187 controls) [[rs1640262]], (C,C) homozygotes were protected against [[polycystic ovary syndrome]] ([[PCOS]]) (P = 0.009).

Three SNPs were studied: [[rs2238614]], [[rs741103]], and [[rs1640262]]. Haplotype G-A-T was associated with increased risk of PCOS (P = 0.015). Among women with PCOS, haplotype A-G-C was associated with increased insulin resistance (P = 0.014). [http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2767244/]
