}}[[rs17300539]], also known as -11391 G/A, is a SNP in the promoter of the adiponectin [[ADIPOQ]] gene.

A small study of 180 Spanish patients with [[obesity]] concluded that [[rs17300539]](G;G) individuals are at increased risk of insulin resistance and MetS complications compared to carriers of an (A) allele. The [[rs17300539]](A) allele confered protection from weight regain, particularly at 32-60 weeks after the low-calorie dietary intervention, when improvement in GG subjects had disappeared {{PMID|18949681}}
