[[rs1898830]], known as -15607A/G and located in the first intron of the [[TLR2]] gene, is associated with an increased risk for shedding and lesion frequency of genital herpes simplex virus type 2 [[HSV-2]] outbreaks.{{PMID|17624834}}

The risk allele is (G).
