}}[[rs438034]] is a SNP in the centromere protein F [[CENPF]] gene.

Based on a long-term (up to 15 years) study of 749 Swedish women with [[breast cancer]], carriers of [[rs438034]](T) alleles (as oriented wrt dbSNP) had poorer specific survival rates as compared to [[rs438034]](C;C) individuals. The hazard ratio was 2.65 (CI: 1.19-5.90). However, although [[rs438034]](T) carriers had worse survival odds, they were less likely to have either regional lymph node metastases (odds ratio 0.71, CI: 0.51-1.01) or tumors of stage II-IV (OR 0.73, CI 0.54-0.99).
