[[rs573225]] is a SNP in the glucose-6-phosphatase, catalytic, 2 [[G6PC2]] gene.

Based on a study of 734 young European children with [[obesity]], the insulinogenic index (IGI) of insulin secretion was determined to be associated with [[rs573225]] by linear regression analysis and was 30% greater in (T;T) or (C;T) genotypes than in (C;C) obese children (alleles oriented with respect to dbSNP). [[rs573225]] was also associated with fasting glucose. {{PMID|18984742|OA=1
