}}[[rs8179183]] is a SNP in the leptin receptor [[LEPR]] gene.

In a study of 101 mostly Caucasian patients prescribed the atypical antipsychotic [[risperidone]], carriers of a [[rs8179183]](G) allele were less likely to gain significant weight compared to [[rs8179183]](C;C) carriers, as assessed by physiogenomic analysis of corresponding weight profiles. Two other SNPs, [[rs6837793]] and [[rs705381]], were also significantly associated with weight profiles in these patients.{{PMID|17199131}}
