[[rs10049088]], [[rs1482853]], [[rs17451107]] and [[rs900400]] are in strong linkage disequilibrium (r2>0.93) with each other. [PMID 25244357] reports from the study itself and drawing from previous studies and meta-analysis that while [[rs900400]] is strogly associated with birth adiposity (sum of skinfolds), that association doesn't bear over to childhood adiposity or adulthood [[BMI]] [PMID 23202124]. This somewhat remarkable because childhood adoposity is known to be associated with adverse metabolic outcomes [PMID 14710101], but according to present studies [[rs900400]] is not responsible for them [PMID 22484627], its effects disappearing by 3 months of age [PMID 23202124].
